We've updated our Debit Card Fraud Protection
In our continuing efforts to keep your accounts secure, we've improved our alert system for potential debit card and ATM fraud.
When potential fraud is detected, you will receive an e-mail as the first method of alert as these can be sent 24x7. If there is no response, five minutes later, a text alert will be sent between 7am and 9pm EST, with the option to reply to confirm the transaction or report fraud.
If there is no response received from you, five minutes after the text alert, you will receive automated phone calls to confirm or deny fraud between the hours of 8am and 9pm EST. If fraud is detected outside of these hours, texts and phone calls will be placed in queue to occur during the allowed windows.
Remember, our messages will never ask for your PIN or account number since we already have that information.
To ensure the fastest response to fraud on your card, please update your cell phone number and e-mail address with us today!
We put you in control
With Card Management from New Horizon Bank, you can turn your debit card on and off in real time. You don't have to worry that funds might disappear from your account* after shopping at the latest merchant to announce a card breach. Simply set your card status to "Suspend" and rest easy knowing anyone trying to use your card number will not get away with your money*.
With Card Management, you can also order a replacement card, activate a new card or report your card lost or stolen. Please note, you cannot reverse reporting your card lost or stolen through the app. You should use the "Suspend" option if you are unsure where your card is. This will prevent any purchases from being authorized and is reversible by you should you find your card later. Card re-orders are subject to approval.
*Your New Horizon Bank Visa Debit Card carries a Zero Fraud Losses guaranty. While you won't be responsible for any losses caused by fraudulent debit card transactions when you report them promptly, you may lose access to your funds until you can report the loss and the Bank can provide you with provisional credit. See your Online Banking Agreement for full requirements on reporting fraudulent transactions.
